SONG REVIEW: Rising Artist Taylor Bickett Releases “Green”

The Nashville singer has released her third single of the year, titled “Green”, which she describes as an “indie-pop song with a jazzy twist”.

We’re not even half-way into 2022 but the singer/songwriter has already gone from strength to strength. After the release of her last single “Zodiac Sign'', she was recently crowned winner of Lightning 100’s Music City Mayhem competition, where she was the first female solo artist to win the award.

Bickett’s newest single, “Green”, focuses on jealousy within a relationship and cleverly heeds the term ‘green eyed monster’. Talking about the new track, she explains "when I was younger, I dated someone who was jealous of how much time I devoted to my music. I wrote 'green' about feeling smothered by an insecure partner. I hope that it speaks to other people who have been put down by the person they love, and inspires them to leave that person in the dust and go after what they want”.

Storytelling is quite obviously the forefront of the musician’s creativity and this song is no different. The new single perfectly encapsulates the internal struggle of choosing between what you truly love and a love you think you want.
